On October 17, 2018, The Cannabis Act came into force in Canada. This legislation controlled the production, distribution, sale and possession of cannabis across Canada. In this episode, we will continue the conversation about Cannabis Legalization in Canada, with a look at the legalization of cannabis edibles, which became legal October 17, 2019. I will be talking with Jill Ellsworth, founder and CEO of Willow Industries, Inc., a company which provides post-harvest microbial decontamination of cannabis in Denver, Colorado. Jill serves on the Cannabis Health and Safety Advisory Committee for the City of Denver and is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with a Master of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Science. She is a vocal advocate for the cannabis industry’s adoption of FDA-like standards and proactive promotion of safety measures.

Jill will provide a brief overview of the different forms of cannabis and how they can be consumed. We’ll then focus on her lessons learned from the legalization of cannabis edibles in Colorado and she will weigh in on what was the proposed regulations for cannabis edibles in Canada, which are now in force.
